Trinity Recycling Update

Trinity Recycling Update

Thanks to everyone who contributes to Trinity’s recycling metal projects. You are Great!

I took a carload of aluminum cans to the recycling business on Monday, January 23. The price being paid for aluminum cans is $.60 per pound currently.  Not only are we protecting our environment, but we get a little cash for Trinity.

In the next couple of weeks, I will take the tin cans and disposable aluminum bakeware items and aluminum foil to sell.

For clarification, please place only aluminum CANS in the recycling bin marked aluminum cans.  In the recycling area in the back of the church, you will find a new recycling bin marked disposable aluminum bakeware.  This is where to place the bakeware and aluminum foil. If you combine the bakeware and the cans, I need to separate them for processing. Usually, that means I bring them back home as it gets a little cold being outdoors doing this task.

Thanks, again, for being involved in the recycling program at Trinity.

A Message on Ukraine

Dear Friends in Christ,

We as a Faith Community are to be in the midst of struggles as well as joys. We as Jesus's disciples understand how important we are to each other as we carry on this work of love in our lives. We have watched as families are devastated by the winds of war, and it is our opportunity to reach out as we can. Trinity UCC over the next two Sundays will be gathering a separate and responsive gift of support that will be sent through the UCC Global H.O.P.E. appeal (see below their message to us). Please bring forth your generous acts of giving to help our sisters and brothers in Ukraine as they cling to hope. We join many with our prayers and support as we hold them up in their time of great need. Remember you can also donate online through our Online Giving Tab located on our Trinity UCC website. www.trinitybrookfield.org

You are a blessing in so many ways! We thank God for our ability to know each other as beloved and worthy of our reaching out in care and love.

Peace- Pastor Dan

Ukraine Emergency Appeal

Situation Report:

On February 24, the Russian military attacked Ukraine. By March 1, more than 670,000 persons had already sought refuge outside of Ukraine and even more had remained in the country but were displaced from their homes. The humanitarian crisis is accelerating in Ukraine and in neighboring countries as the violence escalates and the number of people on the move multiplies.

UCC Response:

The United Church of Christ is appealing for support for refugees and for elderly and other vulnerable people who are displaced within Ukraine and unable to leave. As a member of the ACT Alliance, UCC support is being targeted to people most in need through humanitarian relief partners with a history of working in the region. Aid also is being extended through Hungarian Reformed Church Aid, the relief agency of the Reformed Church in Hungary. The UCC’s long-term relationship with the Reformed Church in Hungary is held through the Europe and the Middle East Office of Global Ministries.

Gifts made to UCC Ukraine Relief Fund will provide shelter, food, and other care to war refugees and internally displaced people. It also will help refugees and asylum seekers from African, Middle Eastern and other countries who had sought refuge in Ukraine and now are twice displaced, as well as other citizens of more than 125 countries living in Ukraine.

Uniting in prayer, action, and giving, we stand as a people of faith in love and compassion with the people of Ukraine and all who are affected, and with our global partners who are welcoming those driven from their homes.

All donations will be deposited into the International Disasters fund designated for “Ukraine Relief.” Your generous financial support will be used by our partners in the areas of greatest need. One can also mail a check made payable to the United Church of Christ PO BOX 71957 Cleveland, OH 44194. Please be sure to note “Ukraine Relief Fund” on your check in the memo section.

Coffee Hours Resume At Trinity

coffeehour.jpg

We have resumed Sunday morning Coffee Hour after worship service. A time to have something to drink, a treat to munch and most important time to chat with our Trinity family. This activity can only happen if you sign up to host. There is a sign up sheet by the kitchen, pick a date and sign your name. Coffee, tea and lemonade are provided. If you want to bring a special treat too, that is great, if not there are cookies in the pantry. If you never have been in the kitchen to operate the coffee machine, dishwasher or know where all the supplies are, not to worry, training is available. So check your calendar and on Sunday morning sign up for a date, if you need some instructions on the machines, contact a member of the CNF committee and we will be there. Let’s continue this special social event and volunteer to host.
